WSH Officers, Warehouse Supervisors, Logistics Coordinators, Lorry Drivers, and Entry-Level Operators (Forklift/Loading crew) involved in the transport of goods.

Entry Requirement:

  • Personnel currently employed or entering the logistics sector; basic to intermediate level of understanding workplace operational safety requirements.

Course Overview:

  • Equips practitioners with advanced level of technical knowledge to identify loading hazards, perform risk assessments, and safely secure cargo. It bridges advanced operational tasks with mandatory legal compliance to prevent road accidents and injuries.

Course Content

  • Topic 1: Legal Requirements & Standards: Compliance with the WSH Act, WSH (Risk Management) Regulations, and Singapore Standard SS 663: 2020
  • Topic 2: LTA Vehicular Limits: Mandatory rules for overhangs (Red Flag >300mm), width (>3m), height (>4.5m), and Maximum Laden Weight
  • Topic 3: Transport Physics: Understanding lateral, forward, and backward forces that cause cargo to shift
  • Topic 4: Loading Bay Safety: Safe Refuge rules, driveaway prevention, and opening container doors safely
  • Topic 5: Securing Techniques: Visual guide to correct lashing angles and vehicle fittings
  • Topic 6: Specialized Cargo: Handling drums, steel coils, and pipes using chocks, wedges, and dunnage .
  • Topic 7: Delivery Plan & Case Study: Stakeholder communication and analysis of loading failures.
