Course Overview:
- The EIFPP course equips participants with the legal knowledge and practical competencies to develop, implement, and audit a mandatory Fall Prevention Plan (FPP). It systematically addresses WAH hazards, required control measures (following the Hierarchy of Controls), and the establishment of a robust Permit-to-Work (PTW) system. The course focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance and achieving zero tolerance for fall-related incidents.
Course Content
- Topic 1: Legal Requirements & WAH Hazards (WSH Act & subsidiary legislation; Penalties; Hierarchy of Controls; Identifying common WAH hazards)
- Topic 2: Developing the Fall Prevention Plan (FPP) (FPP components; Site-specific Risk Assessment; Anchor point selection and certification; Fall clearance calculation)
- Topic 3: Effective Control Measures (Engineering controls e.g., Guardrails, Scaffolding; Administrative controls e.g., Safe Work Procedures; Proper use and inspection of Personal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS))
- Topic 4: Permit-to-Work (PTW) System for WAH (PTW procedures; Roles & responsibilities; Pre-work checks; Handover and closure)
- Topic 5: Rescue Plan & Emergency Procedures (Managing suspension trauma; Developing an emergency rescue plan; Required rescue equipment and drills)
