Operate Lorry Crane (OLC)

The Operate Lorry Crane course is suitable for aspiring and experienced individuals who are required to operate a lorry crane in lifting operations.
Entry Requirement
Learners are assumed to possess the following set of attitudes, skills and knowledge:
1) Course Entry Requirements
Minimum WPLN Level 3
2) Assumed Attitude, Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to read and understand manufacturer’s instructions, procedures and safety signs.
3) Working Experience
Have good sense of “situational awareness” and safety consciousness.
Course Overview
- To equip lorry crane operators with skills, knowledge and attitudes to operate lorry cranes safely.
- At the end of the course, participants will be fully proficient in lorry crane operations, especially in assessing risks and observing safety measures.
Course Content
A course covers the following Competency Elements:
- CE 1: Conduct Routine Checks,
- CE 2: Plan for Lifting Operations,
- CE 3: Set Up Crane,
- CE 4: Lift and Transfer Load,
- CE 5: Shut Down and Secure Crane
Course Duration:
- Total 18 hours comprises of Facilitated Learning 16 hours and Assessment 2 hours Assessment Only Pathway : Experienced Lorry Crane Operators with certificate of training issued by manufacturers or training providers or Employer’s letter to testify that operator has at least 3 years of experience in lorry crane operations. – Assessment 2 hours

Certification
- Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) and a Safety Pass from Eversafe Academy Pte. Ltd. will be awarded to the trainee.

Requirements to be a trainer/assessor/developer for this course
Trainer/Facilitator Requirements

Domain Knowledge and Experience Requirements
The Trainer must have a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) or equivalent.
At least 5 years lorry crane operations experience.
Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or its equivalent (ACLP).
Lifting Supervisor Safety Course Certificate.
Rigger and Signalman Certificates The trainer for the course is not permitted to be the assessor for the same course learners during the assessment.
All trainers/adult educators are required to attain 10 hours (minimum) annually by attending Continuing Professional and Development (CDP) courses.
Developer requires to have Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP) or its equivalent (DACE).
